The original buffalo nickel was also a male. To answer your question, no, it wasn't necessary.

I enjoyed The Code Book, and have thumbed through Collapse - both are tied to my research.

Oh, and Chris? I like how you have post from 2006 still on your main page ;-)

On the Democratic side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer, and a lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer.

On the Republican side, you have a war hero married to a woman with a huge chest who runs a beer distributorship.

Is there a contest here?

I remember the Code Book. It was a good easy read, as I recall. The bit on quantum cryptography wasn't quite up to scratch as I recall, and it's pretty out of date now, but hey.

If I remember correctly in most linux distros it would be something like /home/{username}/.Mozilla/Firefox/Profile/{random}/searchplugins

If you want to use it on a mac, your on your own but my guess is there's a hidden directory within your home directory where Mozilla hides your profile.

The plugin should also work in IE7 if you really wanted it to since IE7 was the first browser to support Opensearch. All I did was create an Opensearch based plugin but instead of searching with it we're posting to jaiku with it.
